International Diaconate Centre (IDC) - in German, English, French, Spanish and Italian.
This Centre was founded in Rome by a great number of Council Fathers, and with the cooperation of Pope Paul VI, after the decision was made to re-establish the diaconate as a permanent ministry in church. Its mission is to help church implement the diaconate by means of study and exchange of experiences, whereas the diaconate should develop itself as a ministry with its own profile and identity, next to priests and trained lay theologists.
The seat of the IDC is in the diocese of Stuttgart-Rottenburg, Germany. The bishop of Stuttgart-Rottenburg is the protector of the IDC. The IDC is recognised by the  German bishops as a formal catholic association according to church law. The Centre organises study conferences, gives advice world wide, participates in diaconal projects and is editor of the German magazine "Diaconia Christi". Contact: idz@bo.drs.de
